Annemette Beck creates innovative textiles using new combinations of materials and structures.
Not afraid to experiment, she weaves in paper yarn, rubber inner tubes from bicycles, metals, lurex, coated polyester and plant fibres along with more conventional materials like wool, linen and leather.
Beck’s textiles are used for rugs and runners, room dividers, blinds, wall hangings and upholstery fabrics, and she regularly receives commissions from companies like Chanel to create bespoke designs.
Normally made by hand using hand looms, Beck’s textiles can also be machine-made where large quantities are needed.
